Welcome to our discussion about worship. May familiarity with these ideas about worship allow you to better draw near to God.

There are many ways to worship God. As individuals, certain people find different ways of worshipping God more or less personally effective.

Aside from these personal issues, it is true that most ways to worship God can be done in a rich, meaningful, and effective manner or (sadly) they can be done poorly.

At P'nei Adonai we are interested not only in knowing ways Yeshua and his followers worshipped in the first century, but also in gaining experience in using these methods of worship fully so we can best focus on God, experience his presence, and love him with all of our heart, soul, and mind.

An example of a short prayer-and-sharing service that makes use of the insights discussed on this website is available for download here as a 94 Kb .doc file. It requires about one hour to use it well. As Yeshua or his disciples would have done, it uses the Hebrew word Adonai ("my Lord") in place of God's personal four letter name, much the same way many English translations of scripture use a capitalized word LORD. Similarly, it uses the Hebrew name of our Messiah, Yeshua (which means "salvation").
