Worship with Dance

The Greek Miserlu

This is a traditional dance. We don't know the choreographer. Note that the Greek Miserlu is for three-count (waltz tempo) music, whereas the Hebrew Miserlu is for four-count music.

The dance may or may not be done holding hands.

Each numbered step takes three beats of music.

  1. (facing inward) {if not holding hands then hands sway} Sidestep R, point L toe in air crossing in front of right foot, step L foot behind right foot
  2. (initially facing inward) {if not holding hands then hands sway} Sidestep R foot to the right, sway L, twist on L foot to face LLOD
  3. (facing LLOD) {if not holding hands then raise hands in high front of you} Step R, bring L foot up to right foot, step R
  4. (facing LLOD) {if not holding hands then lower hands to palm up at waist level} Step backward L, bring R foot back to right foot, step backward L
